biggest thing he would do

February 23rd, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Ramblings, thoughts and ideas

Not long ago, wiffy’s brother contacted me regarding a new website. He wants to launch another blog in the next couple of months. But, this time he doesn’t want me to do everything. Instead, he is asking me to give him support as he wants to do everything by himself. If ever, this will be the biggest thing that he will do in terms being a webmaster.

I told him the process that he needs to undertake. Of course, I try relay it in a manner that a novice like him would understand. The first step is for him to buy domain name. Since he is mostly blogging for fun and not to earn money, then he must opt to buy domain names cheap. Or if he wants to earn, then there is a big chance he will be able to gain profit earlier.

Nowadays, due to the tough competition in the market, webmasters can find cheap and affordable domain names. There are even $1.99/yr registrations on .coms at buycheap-domainnames given that person purchase other services like hosting. That is already a big deal as compared to the regular domain price of $10/yr. However, even if that person opts not to purchase other services the domain prices in this site are still cheap.

Anyway, that is just the start of his task. I know he would have a headache once I overload him with too much information. After a day or two that is the time I’ll start talking about hosting.

bathroom makeover plans

bathroom makeover plansAll my family and friends know that I give too much value of the things inside my house. I do not want to settle for less. That is the reason I save enough money to buy the best furniture and appliances I can think of. Whenever I have money, the first thing that comes to my mind is to look for the best home improvement product rather than buying gadgets and clothes; unless of course I really don’t have those.

For now, my goal is to buy a new couch and a bathroom suite. It has been ages since I started keeping an eye on several Bathroom Suites I found in the web and malls. I want to convert my super boring bathroom into something sleek, modern and classy. But, it is not that easy. Other than saving the money to buy the product, I also need to save money for labor.

Even if I can afford to purchase the product now because of the huge clearance sale of one online store, I can’t still pursue the idea. I don’t have enough to pay for the labor. So, I would rather choose the couch first because if I leave the money in our account, there is a risk that we will spend it for some other stuff. And, I will just continue saving until I reach an amount adequate for every expense needed for my bathroom makeover.

using electronic gadgets and headache has no correlation

using electronic gadgets and headache has no correlationThe new scientific study shows that the use of electronic media is not directly linked to the increase incidence of headaches that children, adolescents and teens experience today. The investigation revolved around youngsters because they are most likely to get affected if these devices were to pose any harm. The study analyzed the influence that such devices as television sets, computer games and mobile phones have on children’s incidence of headaches and migraines, and determined that no clear correlation could be established, PhysOrg reports.

Experts worked together towards establishing the links between the prevalence and type of headaches and exposure to electronic devices. The work was conducted on more than 1025 children, all aged between 13 and 17. The group published its results in the latest issue of the respected, open access scientific journal BMC Neurology, in a paper entitled “The association between use of electronic media and prevalence of headache in adolescents: results from a population-based cross-sectional study.”

The team conducted individual interviews with about 489 teenagers who claimed that they had suffered from headaches or migraines. The results obtained were controlled through interviews with 536 individuals who reported experiencing no such distress. When the team cross-referenced the two groups for exposure to television viewing, electronic gaming, mobile phone usage or computer usage, they were unable to find any statistically-significant correlation. A link was discovered, however, between listening to music and headaches.

gold - the most popular as an investmentFor centuries, gold has been one of the most sought after precious metal and the most popular as an investment. Many have fallen in love to its unique blend of near indestructibility, beauty, and rarity features. Other than that it is also a hedge, protection and insurance against economic, political, social or currency-based crises that include investment market declines, burgeoning national debt, currency failure, inflation, war and social unrest.

Recently, the Capital Market Supervisory Board approved the venture of the gold exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in Thailand stock market. The board agreed last month to permit two different types of gold ETFs into the market namely ETF feeder fund investing in an overseas gold fund and an ETF directly investing in gold bullion in the local market.

By that there is no better time to buy gold bullion than today. Thai people need not to worry as the Securities and Exchange Commission is expected to work with the Stock Exchange of Thailand to assist in educating local investors. Remember, gold bullion holds its value and provides easier liquidity than most other investments.

a clearer and brighter visionMost of the common complaint that is linked to aging is failing eyesight. It’s a contributing factor that limits the lifestyle choices of the elderly. But, there are also instances when young individuals suffer from low vision eyes. It’s usually caused by an injury like getting hit in the eye or head with a baseball or having an automobile or motorcycle accident for teenage kids, while congenital blindness for babies.

Of course, whether we like it or not deteriorating sight hinders our independence and movement. Almost all of our daily activities depend on our eyes. This is not just dangerous of individuals, but it may also impinge on simple activities like reading. Other than that, learning and memory may as well be affected by impaired eyesight.

Treatment options available may include wearing eyeglasses, contact lenses, and eye drops or other medicines. Other may be required to undergo surgery to treat conditions like cataracts, wherein the clouded lens is removed and replaced with an intraocular lens (an artificial plastic lens that requires no special care and restores vision).

But, with the technology nowadays there are other options to correct vision. It is also through surgery, which is called Laser Eye Surgery. It increases the eye’s natural ability to see by altering the shape of the cornea. With this, individuals with poor vision no longer need to use eyeglasses or contact lenses.

You may want to visit Laser Eye Surgery Boston clinics or the nearest near you to have your eyes check. They’ll be more than happy to change your dim world into a clearer and brighter one with your perfect vision.

tips to burglary proof your home

  • tips to burglary proof your homeFix broken locks immediately, even those on the second or third floor. Check that all doors and windows have strong locks. Fix or replace faulty locks as soon as you see them. Change any burned-out outdoor lights promptly.
  • Never let strangers (like delivery guy, someone claiming to be a family relative) into your house or gate without proper photo identification. A uniform or company truck does not guarantee legitimacy. If anybody asks for a glass of water or requests use of your phone, offer to get or make it for them – but don’t let them in. Remember to lock the door or gate behind you when you go inside the house.
  • An efficient home security system that is not updated and activated is useless. Turn your system on even if you will be out briefly. Keep all the doors and windows locked when you’re inside. Burglars generally avoid occupied houses, but you can never be too sure.
  • Keep storage sheds and garage locked at all times. Place ladders out of reach or chained to a secure post to prevent access to second-story entrances. Thieves use tools they can easily find to get into homes.
  • Never leave a set of house keys inside your car, and don’t keep your house and car keys in the same ring, especially if you use valet parking or leave keys with parking lot attendants or car repair mechanics. Read the rest of this entry »
