Stuff to Remember when Choosing Jacuzzi Bathtub

August 12th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in house and home, tips & tricks

Jacuzzi tubs have always been popular, and this popularity is growing as more and more people become aware of the wonders of a Jacuzzi tub and the effect of hydrotherapy to soothe tired muscles, relive stress, increase metabolism and improve overall health. However there are a few things to think about before choosing a Jacuzzi bathtub, including the design of the tub and how it fits with your overall décor, the power requirements, and the type of materials you can choose for the tub.

The first things that should be considered before choosing a Jacuzzi bathtub is the design of the tub itself and ensuring that it goes well with the general design of the bathroom. The tub will be a prominent part of the bathroom, and so it’s essential that the color should the general decor. There also needs to be some consideration of shape and style. If you have a bathroom that is done is a modern style, then something with sleek, clean lines would be suitable. If the bathroom is in a more vintage style, then something a little more ornate should be considered.

When it comes to the power requirements of a Jacuzzi it is very important to ensure there is adequate power available to enable the massage jets to function effectively. A good rule of thumb is that there should be a separate pump for every twenty jets, and obviously this can put a strain on the power supply if it isn’t adequate. A thing to remember is that it is probably a very good idea to hire a licensed contractor to install the tub to ensure that the electricity supply is up to standard and installed safely.

Quick Guide for Your Kitchens’ Gas Hobs

August 11th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in house and home, tips & tricks

Excellent kitchen layout will help hob safety, and this should be considered before placing the hob in your kitchen design. You should be able to transfer a pan from hob to sink without going through any obstacles or crossing people.

Try to allow room to place the hob down either side of where it is installed, as this gives the chance to take the pan off the hob in complete safety, rather than having to pull backwards to find space. Don’t place the sink to close to the hob – hot fat reacts badly with every liquid such as water and juice. Also refrain from having the Hob near a window in case you need to open it.

Choose from a vast array of gas hobs from the leading manufacturers of appliances. We are spoilt for choice compared to a decade ago, with new shapes and designs as well as sizes and colours. The smallest gas hobs are referred to as ‘domino hobs’ and are usually 30cm in width. They can be just a single wok burner or a 2 burner gas hob. Domino models are designed to offer the best of both worlds, as you can combine them in a work surface with an electric ceramic or induction hob.

She really amaze me

Oh my we’ve been hit by a typhoon last Wednesday. It was the welcome gesture of mother-nature to us. LOL! Actually, we never thought it would be that bad. The weather forecast says that it will take north, sad to say it takes west, leaving many people fighting for their life.

I never had a good night sleep at that time. I thought the antenna of our ISP located at the roof will take off the entire roof. Although it was fixed properly, I still have fears that it might be blown away. Good thing it never happened. But, some wires including our cable, telephone and DSL was dislodge from the poles. But, I fixed it back the day after.

Guess what? With all the commotion and all the swirling sound of the wind, and the banging of roofs, wifey is still sound asleep. She is in deep slumber while my heart is racing fast. She doesn’t even know what had happened the entire night and just lets me narrate everything to her in the morning. She really amaze me.

a sad day for sister’s family

Early this morning, I pay a visit to my sister’s father-in law who is fighting for his life in the hospital. He is in the ICU because of stroke. Actually, it is his eight times to suffer the illness. The doctors said that it is no longer advisable for him to undergo operation as there is no chance he will survive. The clotting already reached his spine that affects most of his system. They will just see if the medicines can reduce the clotting, then there is a possibility for his to survive.

The old lady hugs me and cried over my shoulders when I arrived in the hospital. She and the husband (the patient) got closed when I nurse the guy the first few times he suffered stroke. Now, it seems like it is the end of the line for him. Only the mechanical ventilator keeps him alive.

Well, I guess that’s life. I just feel sad for the situation of the old man. But, I can’t do anything about it except give my prayers and let fate takes its course.
