As part of our Earth advocacy, my partner and I have been waiting for a car that has less emission. We have seen lots of it, but it is not as comfy as those of gas fueled vehicle. We heard about electric cars, but it’s not yet perfected by the manufacturers. Some flaws have been seen that needs improvement.
However, a few days ago while leisurely search for cars I came across Nissan Leaf. What is interesting about it? Well, it is the fact that this car is one of two pure electric cars offered in the U.S. for the 2011 model year.
The car manufacturer hasn’t released pricing on this five-door hatchback Nissan Leaf yet. Most likely it wills costs higher purchase price, but most likely offset by much lower operating costs. The energy is stored in a 24-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack mounted in the Leaf’s floor pan, which takes 6 to 7 hours of recharging using 220-Volt power. As for the aesthetics, Nissan said Leaf offers the interior room of a midsize car. The coarse, velvety upholstery material is made from recycled plastic bottles and home appliances.
Well, this is really a green car. And, it will surely help reduce emission. So, if all people are using this type of car we might be able to save our planet and ourselves from the harmful effects of pollution.
