I have been hearing and reading a lot of articles about coins as an investment because of its financial value that increases over time. However, I find it more appropriate to consider coins as collection rather than investment. Of course that is my point of view, others might view it the other way.

Collectors and coin dealers already enjoyed the announcement of the US Mint for the America the Beautiful series new program. Tons of fanfare about the list of national parks and sites the new quarters will feature, it was easy to miss the Mint’s same-day introduction of the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins. These new coins feature up to five new designs each year beginning in 2010 and lasting to 2021. The eleven year series will result in 56 circulating quarter-dollar coins with reverse designs emblematic of a selected site in each 50 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories — Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Northern Mariana Islands. According to The US Mint Director Ed Moy, this coins will honor some of our most revered, treasured and beautiful national sites — majestic and historic places located throughout the United States and its territories.
I actually want to get even one of these coins even though I am not from the US. Sometimes, it is just good to be part of the history. Getting these items in my bag of collection is amazing. The thing is, I don’t have collection. If ever this will be the first that if I pursue it. I still have to learn more about the pricing. It might hit me if it costs a lot than its value.
