fixing it for perfect look

August 24th, 2009 | 1 Comment | Posted in thoughts and ideas

I must admit I never had a good set of teeth. I have these spaces in between, but I feel its okay. I am still lucky that I have a complete dentures and no dark stuff sticking to it. Even though that is the case, I still want to fix it for a perfect look. I no longer want the spaces in between. And maybe a few centimeters long must be added to its height. I have small dentures make me look like a child.

I searched the web for the most experienced dentist in my country. Instead, I found Los Angeles Dentist named Dr Parviz Azar Mehr. He is a prosthodontist, a dental specialist who has received post doctoral training in crowns & bridges, dentures, dental implants, cosmetic dentistry and TMJ disorders. He has been practicing and teaching dentistry for over 25 years from now. That is a very long service to his community. I believed that he already faced and solved all kinds of human dental problems.

Well, I think I have to continue searching for the most experience dentist in my community. Or I’ll just have to trust the folks nearby. There are several dentists in my area, but I am not sure if they offer the same service as to my previous dentist. I will never know that thing unless I give them a try.

feeling bored and frustrated

August 23rd, 2009 | 2 Comments | Posted in Ramblings, thoughts and ideas

There is nothing much going on with my life for the past few weeks. After taking the exam and failing, I feel so intensely bored and frustrated. I went back in this place for that exam and yet I did not make it. My best friend, who is also my wife, told me that everything happens for a reason. And I should take not falter. I have something for me in the future.

After a few days, I begin scouting for a family vacation destination. It’ part of enjoyment even though some may not happen due to budget constraint. Well, I found Azul Beach Hotel part of the collection resort of Karisma in the secluded white sand beaches of Mexican Riviera Maya. It’s actually the first boutique all-inclusive resort after undergoing redesigning. It’s now filled with several family-friendly amenities and activities for a new way to vacation.

I don’t think this vacation will happen soon, maybe in the future. I’ll just hope it will be.

Changing Candle Flame Color

August 14th, 2009 | 2 Comments | Posted in house and home, tips & tricks

For Candles: add the chemicals to the wax, or soak the wicks in a solution of  the chemicals using the “recipes” below

To Add to a Fire: Put three level spoons of the chemical into a paper cup; fill 1/2 full with water and stir. Soak several small chips of wood in this solution overnight. The next day, remove the chips with tweezers and lay on newspaper to dry. They can now be added to the lames to produce bright colors.

  • Green flame: Borax or Boric acid, copper nitrates or barium nitrates, alum (thallium)
  • Orange flame: calcium chloride
  • Red flame: stronium nitrate, some sources site Boric acid as well
  • Reddish/Orange: calcium choloride
  • Yellow flame: Table salt, Sodium Chlorate or Potassium Nitrate
  • Yellow/Green: borax (sodium tetraborate)
  • Purple flame: Lithium Chlorate, (potassium nitrate)
  • White: psom Salts (magnesium sulfate)

Another special effect can be achieved by sprinkling powdered iron into a flame. If this is done slowly enough, a number of yellow, sparkling “stars’ can be seen clearly.

learning about webhosting

Last week one of my friends asks for assistance in creating a site. Actually he paid me for my services. The first person he contacted quoted a huge amount of fees excluded of the product that must be bought like hosting and domain name.

Since he knew that I am addicted to the internet. So, he asked me if I knew someone that can do the job that doesn’t charge that much. Of course, I would definitely recommend myself because he is my friend and we knew each other since college.

I gave him everything he needs to know like how much it would cost him to buy a domain name and hosting. I showed him around several hosting companies listed in webhostinggeeks where I bought my hosting provider last year. It’s really helpful page as there are a number of choices available. All choices are ranked according to best price-value ratio, host reliability, up-time, key features, bonus features, customer support, past and current user feed-back, user-friendliness and hosting awards. Plus, customers like me can read reviews of other customers and I can even submit reviews to the hosting provider.

He definitely loved learning about it. Since he is still starting his photography website, I recommend that he purchased a hosting with unlimited space and traffic feature. In the long run if his website becomes successful and wants to share hosting with other photographers like himself he can then opt for dedicated server hosting. It would give him a tremendous amount of storage space available for website pages, images, and features. And it allows him to gain more control and more software and script options. Of course for now since he is not yet earning and still a novice, he can opt for shared hosting.

He is very happy to learn several hosting information. He was able to choose the best that suits his needs for this time. His website is already up and running.

Tips in Managing your Subordinates

Basically, in organizations we must work with and for others. To be able to mutually achieve our goals we must be able to relate to others effectively. Here are some possible ideas how to lead and manage people:

  • Catch people doing things right and then let them know that they are doing things right.
  • Use feedback to stay informed about what other people are doing in your area of responsibility and authority.
  • Have regular, focused meetings regarding the projects that you are responsible for.
  • Provide adequate instructions. Time is lost if things are not done correctly.
  • Train others to do jobs. You cannot do them all, nor can others do them if they have not been trained.
  • Expect others to succeed. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy when you believe others are loyal, dedicated and doing a good job.
  • Help others see how they will benefit from doing a job. This is when they truly become motivated.
  • Do not avoid talking to a poor performer. It hurts them, the organization and yourself if the situation is not dealt with.
  • Do not over control others. It is frustrating for them and time consuming for you.
  • Focus on results, not on activities or personalities.
  • Reward people for the results that they produce.

searching for giveaways

August 12th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in business stuff, thoughts and ideas

For such a long time now, wiffy and I have been planning to put up a business preferably something that has to do with fashion. And there is a big opportunity offered by my sister. However, we are not yet sure where and how to start. But, I let wiffy handle everything.

As for me though, I am looking for the best Promotional Giveaways if ever our plans will pursue. I have this idea in mind not only to give discounts during the first day, but giving away promotional gifts for our customers for about a week maybe. Since we are choosing bags and accessories, we might as well give away promotional bags and cases that carry our logo or company name. Isn’t that wonderful?

I began searching for the most practical yet fitting for our future business. As I scour the net, I came across a site called anypromo that offers over 200,000 quality promotional products, promotional items and promotional giveaways. Aside from that, any of those items can be personalized. I no longer have to worry for putting our logo or company name. When the items arrive, it already ready for our customers.

I put so much effort in searching for this one. I feel that it’s really great for our promotional needs. Hopefully our plans will pursue so that my efforts will not be futile.
