Snuff Out Heartburn

June 12th, 2008 Posted in health information

More than 15 million people suffers from heartburn every day, strategies can often stem the problem. Here are top tips for putting out the fire:

::Sleep on your left side your esophagus curves as it enters your stomach, and sleeping on your left forces it into a sharper angle, so acid can’t rise easily.
::Eat more protein Protein, which is known for muscle-building, can strengthen the sphincter – the muscle of the end of the esophagus – preventing stomach acid from rising.
::Bend your knees, not your back When you bend at your waist, you put more pressure on your stomach and that can force acids up, causing heart burn.
