On the 15th of June 2008 the world will be celebrating Father’s Day and that includes me. In reality my relationship with Dad is not that close. I do love him but we do not get along very well. It could be that he was not in my side until I reach the age of 3. He was a soldier at that time so he is on duty every now and then. In fairness to my father he provides all our needs just that he is like a stranger sometimes.

When I met my wiffy, she got a different family background than I am. She and her father are like best friends. She can always tell him all the things that happen in her life. And, her father still fetches her at work when I’m not around.

Now that we are together, she always tells me to give my dad a present. She keeps on reminding me that any father; although they don’t say a word, they will always appreciate gifts from their children. For that reason, I will try to befriend my dad. I’m planning to give him cool fathers day gifts. My wiffy promised to help me and she got lots of gift ideas for her father and her father-in-law. I just hope that in this way he will feel that I remember him even after 5 long years of not being together.
